Important Update: Changes to Google Local Services Ads Reviews

Google is making a significant update to its Local Services Ads (LSA) review system. Previously, businesses could acquire reviews directly through the LSA itself or link their Google Business Profile (GBP) reviews, allowing consumers to solely rely on LSA. However, in a recent policy shift, Google will soon restrict the review acquisition to only those linked to a business’s GBP.

This means consumers will no longer be able to leave reviews directly via the Local Services Ad. Instead, all reviews will be fed from the linked GBP, potentially simplifying the review management process for businesses.

However, for businesses relying on LSAs, this change emphasizes the importance of having and maintaining an active and well-managed GBP. Ensure your Google Business Profile is updated and optimized to reflect your services, as it will be the sole source of customer reviews going forward.

Stay tuned for more updates on how this change may impact your advertising strategy!
